THE POWER OF TEMPERANCE

Proverbs 16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

Anger is a strong emotion which emanates from the soul of man. Some people have ended up in prisons because they could not control their anger. Some people have regretted of their actions because they could not control their anger. They have sentenced people to capital punishment because they could not control their anger. Some couples have ended up in divorce because they could not control their anger. Some countries and cities have ended up in war because they could not control their anger.

They have destroyed churches because the leader and the elders could not control their anger. Organizations have been destroyed because of anger. The wealth of some nations has been destroyed because of anger. Some politicians have led an entire nation into war because of anger. Innocent lives have been destroyed because of anger. Some people have murdered their loved ones because they could not control their anger. The destinies of some people have been destroyed because they could not control their anger. Curses have been imposed on some nations and families because they could not control their anger.

Anger is a strong and unstoppable force that moves a man to act without thinking of the consequences. Anger can make people act abnormally. Anger can make people regret their actions. Anger on the hand is a great blessing if the Holy Spirit controls it. If the devil controls your anger, you will end up in destruction. If the Holy Spirit controls your anger, it saves others. You can drive anger toward positive things. You can use your anger to drive things you cannot do. You can use anger to save the innocent.

Jesus Christ used his anger to disorganize the works of the thieves in the temple (See Matthew 21:12-16). I call anger controlled by the Holy Spirit temperance. The ability to control your anger is what I call temperance. Some leaders are mad at the enemy because of what they have experienced in life. Archbishop Duncan Williams is one of the Christians leaders who drives his anger and anointing on the enemy. The ability and the capacity to tolerate the bad side of others is what I call temperance. Temperance means tolerance.

Temperance is one of the virtues of the Holy Spirit. If you are born again and full of the Holy Spirit, you can control your anger easily because anger is triggered by the soul. If you are soulish, you cannot be temperate. A soulish person cannot tolerate the imperfection of others. A leader must be temperate in all his dealings because most people act in ignorance.

A man who is temperate can avoid uncountable misfortune and disaster. The ability to control your anger allows the Holy Spirit to lead you. A man who can control his anger can override the traps of the enemy easily. A temperate man is greater than the strongest man in this world. Meditate deeply on these scriptures for more revelation.

Proverbs 14:29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Proverbs 14:17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

Proverbs 25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

MASTER KEY: AVOID ANYONE WHO ALWAYS MAKES YOU ANGRY IN A NEGATIVE WAY.
